Few people would argue that the new year brings a renewed sense of direction and a clean slate for positive change. Why not make your tinnitus cure of a part of that process?

How can this be done? Actually, you can make it easier looking back instead of forward. No joke! Take a look back over the holidays in December and remember what fun it was to be in touch with friends and family. Remember all the great meals, shopping, skiing and other winter sports.

Now you’re back at work and ready for a new year its always a great idea to remember the good times. How does your tinnitus effect you? Well, think for a moment. When engaged in these activities, how much your tinnitus bothers you? Most likely not as much when you’re stressed at work, that’s for sure.

You see, tinnitus is always worse when you’re stressed. And when your tinnitus worse, so is the stress. The two are so closely linked and tinnitus suffer most agree that comes along with one another.

This year, make New Year’s resolutions to do more of what you love. That is the real cure for tinnitus. Doing more of what you love reduces stress and thereby reduces tinnitus.

Naturally, this is easier said than done. When you are stressed you are stressed right? Sure, but do not react to external forces that cause stress?

There are dozens of books, articles and tips on how to reduce stress. But in my humble opinion, is not really that difficult. Are you familiar with Achems razor? It states: All things being equal, the simplest explanation is probably the correct explanation.

Hence the simplest explanation I can take to reduce stress. When you begin to feel life getting out of hand, take a look inside and find that the only cause you stress. Stress can be caused by external forces. Only your reaction to these forces can cause stress.

Do not react to external forces. To enact positive change based on the situation that is happening around you that you do not like. In doing so, the stress will dissipate. Affirmative action is required. Blame, justify and deny will not work.

Tinnitus is a symptom of a larger problem. That the biggest problem is the resistance to their life situation that tinnitus is only a part. Fixing problems one by one, by enacting a positive change, inevitably, fix your tinnitus too.

So put your hand on your heart and repeat the following out loud. I promise to do my best to change the parts of me that I have control over such as: my thoughts, my feelings and my actions. I promise not to worry so much about what others are doing and saying. And above all, I will face my tinnitus with the same positive attitude and give it around. How can I do anything is how I do it all.
